ERIC at a glance
ERIC was incorporated on November 13th, 2008 as a non-profit Association under the title III of the Belgian Law 27 June 1921 on non-profit associations, international non-profit-making associations and foundations. ERIC encompasses the aims of the Network of Excellence IDECAT (Integrated Design of Catalytic Nanomaterials for a Sustainable Production), from which it derives as a Durable Integration Structure (DIS). From the original structure of 12 Partners, nowadays it counts 24 members, all of them prestigious European Universities or Research Organizations. Although the incorporation dated back in 2008, ERIC started its activities in 2010 with the organization of the iCATS meeting in Messina. It was the last event of the same IDECAT Network of Excellence and, at the same time, the first activity of the new-born Association.

Since that day, ERIC undertook many activities in research, participating to numerous EC funded projects as well as educational activities and fostering the interaction of its members and promoting catalysis activities toward the community and among its members.

ERIC is active in European research projects and collaborates with the most prestigious and innovative Industries in Europe and abroad.

ERIC is member of the following associations:
  • A.SPIRE - the European Association which is committed to manage and implement the SPIRE (Sustainable Process Industry through Resource and Energy Efficiency) Public-Private Partnership. ERIC aisbl is one of the RTOs members.
  • EuCheMS, the European Association for Chemical and Molecular Sciences. ERIC aisbl is one of the supporting members.

ERIC is also registered Organization in the European Parliament for lobbying activities, to promote catalysis interests.
